Dr. Adams in Switzerland, Belgium and Portugal to Start the Summer

Kathleen Adams was in Europe in late May and early June, sharing her expertise through lectures, workshops, and conferences.

On May 13 and 14, at Monte Veritá in Ascona, Switzerland, Dr. Adams served as Scholar-in-Residence for the  Ph.D.-level workshop on the anthropology of tourism. There, she gave a lecture titled "On Critical Tourism Studies and Yellow Brick Roads” and advised Ph.D. students at Swiss universities on their dissertation projects.

From there, Dr. Adams traveled to Brussels, Belgium, where she gave a Master Seminar on “Museums, Communities, and Conflicts over Heritage Objects” for the  on May 28.

The following week, from June 4-8, Dr. Adams participated in the  in Lisbon, where she served as discussant on the panel “Ethnography and Biographical Narratives: Past, Memory, Text and Construction of the Self.”
