Chinese Culture Day at LLRC, Spring 2025

On April 15, 2025, over 60 students, faculty, and staff gathered at the Language Learning Resource Center (LLRC) to celebrate Chinese Culture Day. Attendees enjoyed nine informative presentations covering a wide range of topics related to Chinese culture, for example, the Peking Opera and other Chinese dramas, major Chinese holidays such as the Spring Festival and the Mid-Autumn Festival, and the I Ching (Book of Changes, an ancient Chinese divination text). In addition, four students wowed the audience with Chinese song performances, and everyone got to enjoy a tasty, authentic Chinese meal with plenty of delicious snacks.

Many of the 21 seniors graduating this May with a Chinese Language and Culture Minor were honored at the event. Several shared their experiences learning Chinese and encouraged fellow attendees to consider pursuing the minor. The event was organized and sponsored by the Department of Modern Languages and Literatures, the LLRC, and the Chinese Language and Culture Program.
